Leh Ladakh
Being situated on the snow-clad fringes of the Himalayan Mountains, Leh offers its tourists the chance to experience the magical charm of Himalayas and to explore its rough and rugged terrains. The land of Ladakh, renowned as the cold desert, holds immense pristine beauty for its beholder.
After reaching Leh airport (on your own), you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to the hotel for check-in. Spend the day in the hotel for rest and acclimatization. Today, we will visit Leh Palace (Visiting Time : 7 am to 4 pm). The museum inside the building holds artefacts over 450 year old. Shanti Stupa, a white domed beautiful stupa on a hill. The place offers a very good panoramic view of the city of Leh City. Later, visit the Leh market in the evening to explore the local cuisine and local handicraft.
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing on the Leh – Srinagar Highway. Visit : Hall of Fame ,a Museum developed and maintained by the Indian Army in the memory of soldiers who lost their lives in Indo-Pak war and is a must visit place for every citizen. You can see here the weapons used in Kargil war and other artefacts of various wars(Kargil war). You can also purchase things from souvenir shop. Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, a Gurudwara constructed & maintained by the Indian Army. There is a very interesting religious story associated with this place about Guru Nanak ji. Explore the place and do take the prasad before you leave the place in the traditional style of Gurudwara. Then, we proceed to visit Alchi Monaestry, a buddhist monaestry in Alchi village of Leh. While returning from Alchi Monaestry, one can also opt for River Rafting at Zanskar river. Proceed further and experience the effects of Magnetic Hill (Defiance of the law of gravity wherein a vehicle starts climbing up the hill when put in a neutral position) and admire the confluence of holy Indus & Zanskar also known as Sangam Return back to Leh for and overnight stay.
Embark on a drive along the Indus River into Rupshu Valley early in the morning. Tsomoriri Lake is about 220 kilometers from Leh and is located in an altitude of 4200 meter. The lake is famous worldwide for its picturesque beauty. While proceeding towards Tsomoriri Lake, visit the Chumathang Hot Springs and cross the Mahe Bridge. If you are lucky you can also see Himalayan marmots on the way. By late noon reach Tsomoriri Lake; upon arrival, check in at the tented camp near the lake. Later, visit the lake shores. It is a popular breeding and nestling area for thousands of migratory birds that include Brahimini Duck, Bar Headed Goose, Black Naked Cranes etc. Overnight at the camp.
After a refreshing morning breakfast, drive to Leh via Tsokar Lake route. On the way, visit the Puga Geo-thermal Gas Springs at Polo- Kongka Pass. After crossing the pass, stop by Tsokar Lake for a photo stop. If you wish to, you can also visit the monastery of tiny Thukje village. Upon reaching Manali highway, cross the Tanglangla Pass which is located in an altitude of 5350 meter. By the evening check in at hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Wake up early today. After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest region in Ladakh via Khardungla pass. Nubra valley is one of those heavens where you will see snowcapped ranges, river and desert at one place. The high passes on the way to Nubra will surely thrill up your journey and as you reach Khardung-La, you ride through the highest motorable road in the world. Enjoy a short halt here for coffee and some snacks as you enjoy the beautiful snow capped mountains. After spending some time at Khardungla, proceed to Nubra. After Hotel check-in, enjoy camel Safari in the evening. Overnight stay in Nubra *Guests can extend a day at Nubra Valley to visit Turtuk, a place famous for its Apricots and is the last village before LOC. The visit to Turtuk will extend a day in Nubra and guests need to inform this while booking the tour because special permits are needed to visit it and the cost of the tour will also increase
After breakfast, visit Diskit Monaestry, which is the oldest Buddhist Monaestry in the Nubra Valley. A 100 foot high statue of Maitreya Buddha statue is the main attraction here. After monaestry, we go to visit Sand Dunes. Spend some time here. These sand dunes are one of the places where you can find the double humped camels. Enjoy Camel Ride, ATV ride and other activities. Take some memorable photos and then we drive back to Leh again through Khardung-La pass. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.
After an early breakfast, we will drive to Pangong Lake(World's highest brackish lake) via Changla Pass (17,586 feet) and the second highest motorable pass of the world. The lake is considered to be sacred by the local people. Visit the exact location where the climax of the famous movie “Three idiots” was shot & enjoy outing along the banks of the lake. One really feels very close to nature at Pangong Lake with its scenic surroundings. On a clear sunny day, you can see seven colour formations in the crystal clear salt water lake. Overnight stay in Pangong.
After breakfast, travel back to Leh. En route take a short halt at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea and as you are about to reach Leh, visit Rancho school(The school of Aamir Khan in 3-idiots) on the way. Visit Shanti Stupa and Leh market in the evening. Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, get transferred to Leh Airport for boarding the flight to your destination. Tour Concludes with some wonderful long lasting memories
